Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., together with its subsidiaries, provides insurance and reinsurance brokerage, consulting, and third-party property/casualty claims settlement and administration services to entities and individuals worldwide. It operates in Brokerage and Risk Management segments.
My team designed components for one brand at a time while partnering with each brand’s business stakeholders and marketing team. We developed a standardized approach that could later be tokenized for theming and scalability.
After gaining a sense of the requirements across brands, we created a new, better design system: better because it was a singular system using “vanilla” components with themes to apply branding touches. The components had the required specifications we defined with the various teams across brands in the previous iteration. We used tokens to develop themes for each brand. We linked these tokens to a repository so that after our development teams restructured the components on their end to mirror the designs, they could leverage the tokens for greater efficiency in the workflow as well as greater consistency within and across the digital experiences.
