My work explores embroidery as a painterly medium, translating the visual language of Indian miniature painting into contemporary textile art. Through thread, bead, and cloth, I create intricate compositions rooted in storytelling, movement, and the natural world. I see Magic and Whimsy as an invitation to create a sense of wonder—to let viewers briefly enter a world that feels removed from everyday life. Indian miniature painting has a long tradition of richly imagined landscapes and dreamlike storytelling, and my work draws from this tradition while reinterpreting it through the slow, tactile process of hand embroidery. Dancing Girl in the Forest embodies this idea: a figure moving through an enchanted landscape, suggesting that an ordinary forest might hold another story just beneath the surface.
